Official Release Date of THE TROUBLE WITH HUMPADORI
HUMP in Anjuna Beach, Goa
Since my book "The Trouble with Humpadori" is now officially out with the New Year and available on SPD and with The 'Great' Indian Poetry Collective, I will document the history of two copies. 1) My personal copy has been battered, scraped by beach sand, and warped by the air of the Arabian Sea--yet it's still quite hardy! I was shooting a little video recording at Anjuna Beach in full HUMP-mode (see above--tatty wigged and blue) and was approached by a young Bombay musician asking if I was a rap artist. His band was looking. (Alas I am a just "poet" but a girl can dream.) He took a photo of the battered book (and HUMP). The next morning I got deathly ill. Dreaming is dangerous. 2) Another copy which I signed for Bangalore poet Rohini Venkatesh Malur got soused with wine and other spillages and is the all better for it! I might just block-print a few special copies with wine for those who ask. A Dionysian signature.
